Scripture… As We Live It #213

Posted by on Jun 17, 2012 in as we live it, scripture | 4 comments

This is the 213th passage in “Scripture… As We Live It.”

And how are they to preach unless they are sent educated, ordained, and licensed to “the gospel ministry” by a local church? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news sermons to the church!” (Romans 10:15 re-mix)

(Please read the first post for an explanation of this series.)

This might just be my favorite…

Yes and things meanings have been changed so well in the remix as this that the clergy is in total control. Man(flesh) has really got things mixed up, for their selfish control

Ditto, Arthur. Simple, but saysd a lot. Sad but true.

Yet, my heart goes out to those who are where I recently was. I did not preach, but I sat under the well-educated, ordained, and licensed minister of an established denomination that based it’s core beliefs in the tradition of a confession made in 1689.

I knew something wasn’t right. Thank God there are those who are not ashamed of the gospel and expose those who would preach another gospel, not that there is one.

Be gentle, as was one person in my life in particular, who was prepared to share the reason for the hope that he had, and did not attempt to motivate me by shame, guilt, or fear. That is what attracted me and grounded me.

Dwight, I agree, gentleness is key. There are a lot of books and blogs out there very angry at the institutional church. And while I can understand the anger, it is rather off-putting. I recently stumbled across Alan’s blog and really appreciate the gentle tone of his writing.
