Are you involved in church growth?
God has a church growth method:
Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. (Ephesians 4:15-16 ESV)
According to this passage, every believer should be involved in God’s church growth method. Lately, I have been asking myself what part I play in making the body grow and build itself up in love. So, what are you doing to make the body grow?
Update: Perhaps a better way to ask this is: How is God working through you to grow (that is, edify) his church?
My ordination certificate says I’m an “evangelist,” and that’s what I prepared myself for. Lately I haven’t done much of anything, but by the grace of God I hope that will be changing this year. Love your blog and I’m glad I found it.
Adam,
Welcome to my blog. Feel free to interact at any time.

Me? I work on my blog and make random commments on other’s blogs. That’s real Kingdom work right?
Ok, so the last comment was just kidding- sort of.
I believe that as we get up each morning the King gives us opportunities to impact others and as we are obedient to serve others we are ourselves changed. This grows me and it grows others and we become more and more the Church.
Strider,
I’ve been thinking about the place for blogging in discipleship. Maybe that’ll be a blog post one day. I agree that we grow the church and ourselves when we follow the Father’s will for us.
Perhaps I should have asked the question differently: How has God used you to grow his church recently?
Thanks for your comment!
