Scripture… As We Live It #16

Posted by on Aug 24, 2008 in as we live it, scripture | 4 comments

Here is the sixteenth passage in “Scripture… As We Live It“:

Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food you made a profession of faith, I was thirsty and you gave me drink you were baptized, I was a stranger and you welcomed me you faithfully attended church meetings, I was naked and you clothed me you joined a Bible study, I was sick and you visited me you gave your offerings to the church, I was in prison and you came to me you even gave to the building fund.’ (Matthew 25:34-36 re-mix)

    Alan,

I had this as my number 11. But took it down. Very nice. I guess I will publish it.

It is so sad to read how true this is as a sign of true churchmanship. May God have mercy on us to wake up and realise just what it is to follow in the footsteps of Christ.

I love these! Tough, but true.

    Alan-

This reminds me: Some forms of Dispensationalism teach that this verse does not apply to the church as they teach that this is a judgement on the Gentile nations and how they treated national Israel during the tribulation and of course they taught that the church had been raptured from the earth 7 years before this happens! I cringe when I think of how many years I was taught and believed Dispensational Pre-Mil. Its almost like when the Pharisees would add rules to the Mosaic Law that would help them to avoid their responsibility to help people.
