Scripture… As We Live It #18
Here is the eighteenth installment of “Scripture… As We Live It“:
And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified, along with hermeneutics, homiletics, and church growth strategies. (1 Corinthians 2:1-2 re-mix)
How about leaving out the “Christ Cruicified part”.
Alan,
Sounds familiar!
Alan,
Wonderful post and thoughts.
I enjoy your blog.
It inspires me.
I hope you had a great Sunday and week as well.
Thank you for all you do for the Kingdom of God.
Painfully true. And we will divide over all that other stuff but fail to take up the cross.
Alan,
Once again, you nailed it!!
Alan,
Great job on this…
I’m always amazed when these little “Scripture… As We Live It” posts get feedback. To be honest, these are sometimes hard for me to write. Often I’m writing from a mirror – showing what I’ve practiced.

Alan,
I think most of us have lived them this way in pratice, until one day when we were hit by a revelation concerning the truth. The institutional church culture just breeds it, by and large.
