Not Talking… Listening
As you can imagine, I’ve been pretty busy lately.
So, for a change, I’m not saying anything in this post. That’s my prerogative because this is my blog. (I may post something later in the day.)
Instead, I’d like to listen. What do you want to talk about?
I am interested in what readers (or Alan!) think about Romans 7, where Paul talks about not doing what he wants, etc. My fellowship group has been studying Romans and I feel the Lord has given me understanding of this passage, which I have sought for some time. I can’t submit those thoughts now as I am on my iPod, but I’d be interested in others thoughts.
Well this made me think about what a lost ‘art’ listening is! 🙂 We had a discussion with friends just last night at this truth. Regular ol people skills are just lacking… sometimes it seems MORESO in our church communities. Which is so sad because loving = being others-focused. I know very few people who are others focused. Most of us, in our own weakness and desire to feel valued/important talk talk talk about what we know, have done, etc…. me me me I I I…
how immature we are. And this isn’t a knock toward blogging — because I find that many times the bloggers are the great listeners in person! Blogging is a great outlet to get out what you can’t in discussion!
Anyway —- it’s so sad. It’s impossible to feel love from somebody who loves themselves more than they love you. yet that’s what we give the world – we give them how wonderful we think we are – rather then giving them our best which would show them how wonderful HE is and how wonderful THEY are.
