In the Beginning: Bibles Before the Year 1000
Today, my family had the opportunity to view an exhibit at the Sackler Gallery in Washington D.C. The exhibit is called “In the Beginning: Bibles Before the Year 1000.” We were able to view part of the Isaiah scroll which was found near Qumran. We also saw pages from Codex Sinaiticus, Codex Washintonensis, and the Chester Beatty papyri. I really enjoyed reading the first few verses of Paul’s letter to the Galatians with my son from a manuscript that was copied less than 200 years after Paul wrote it.
I am so jealous!
*slap* Bad girl, bad girl, Isabel! (Hmm, maybe you shouldn’t publish this….)
