Rethinking Church Life Blog

I recently ran across a fairly new blog called “Rethinking Church Life“. I think the blog is published by a man named Bruce from northwest Ohio. I have enjoyed reading a couple of the quotes that Bruce has published on his blog. For instance:

It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it. – Upton Sinclair

Experience supplies painful proof that traditions once called into being are first called useful, then they become necessary. At last they are too often made idols, and all must bow down to them or be punished. – J. C. Ryle

Also, he is blogging through a book called When the Church was Young. This book was written by Ernest Loosely, and was published in London in 1935. Yes, that’s correct: 1935. You can find Bruce’s posts about this book in two posts so far: “When the Church was Young – It had no buildings” and “When the Church was Young – It had no denominations“.

I’m looking forward to reading more at “Rethinking Church Life“.
