Scripture… As We Live It #145
This is the 145th passage in “Scripture… As We Live It.” This passage is a re-re-mix of #144, as suggested by Hutch in the comments.
Wives, submit give consideration to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. (Colossians 3:18 re-mix)
(Please read the first post for an explanation of this series.)
I actually believe that is what its says! 🙂
Wives are to “submit” give kind and considerate regard to their husbands, all Christians are to “submit” give kind and considerate regard for each other (meaning of course that husbands also “submit” to their wives), all Christians are to consider others as better than themselves, all Christians are to “submit” give attention to kind and considerate regard to older men and women who serve others sacrificially, their words and actions are are worth considering. 🙂

Well…submit might be the best english word for hupotasso in this passage but I don’t know that it is equivalent.
Dictionary.com for submit (relevant usage):
to give over or yield to the power or authority of another.
TDNT for hupotasso in the middle form:
“submit voluntarily”
When we combine this with Paul’s encouragement to the
Phillipians “Php 2:3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;” and I think submission as defined here can very easily go both ways.
