Scripture… As We Live It #196

Posted by on Feb 19, 2012 in as we live it, scripture | 1 comment

This is the 196th passage in “Scripture… As We Live It.”

And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” Then Eli perceived that the Lord was calling the boy. Therefore Eli said to Samuel, “Go, lie down, and if he calls you, you shall say, ‘Speak, Lord, for your servant hears.'” you shall read the Scriptures for that is the only way that God will speak to you.” (1 Samuel 3:8-9 re-mix)

    Alan,
To a large extent, what we in the post modern world want, is a safe system to be a part of. We do not want the hassle and the mess of authentic first century relationships. We do not want to hear and thereby have to judge a prophesy. We do not want anything that might tax our time, and compartmentalized life. I understand this very well as it was me not so long ago. Fortunately for me, the Lord mercifully stirred up my safe nest and compelled me to know him and others in deeper more meaningful ways (first century). Praise the Lord for what He is doing in the last days, moving us out of our old (safe) ways.
