Scripture… As We Live It #229
This is the 229th passage in “Scripture… As We Live It.”
Let every person be subject to vote for the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist For in this way you will know which ones have been instituted by God. (Romans 13:1 re-mix)
(Please read the first post for an explanation of this series.)
Alan, that’s too thought-provoking and challenging! Ha!

There has always been plenty of posturing, pandering and power-grabbing in most every era and form of government. Thankfully, “The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the LORD; he turns it wherever he will” (Prov. 21:1).
Obviously, if you don’t vote for God’s choice, you are going to die and go to Hell. Because we all know that of all the titles Jesus has, “President Jesus” is the most important. King of Kings and Lord of Lords pales in comparison to being the President of the United States.
One question I ask my brothers is: Barack Obama is our President. Our Father ordains all authority. So…what is He telling us by putting Obama above us? Just a thought. If Obama loses this re-election and Romney becomes our President, what does that mean?
I nominate Jesus Christ as Grand Poobah Exalted Leader of The Universe. I wonder if He’ll be on this year’s ballot?
Mr. Borsch…I often say that it does not matter who sits in the Oval office as long as we know Who is sitting on the Throne.
Alan…another brilliant take on people’s perceptions of how things should be done. It amazes me how much has been added which has nothing to do with scripture. I am glad, though, that through it all, God’s grace always shines through.
“America is a Christian nation…lets preserve it that way” seems to be the rallying cry, as though our citizenship is on earth. I feel like Reepicheep in Lewis’ Voyage of the Dawn Treader…so much to say at once I’m rendered speechless!
Then the men of Israel said unto Gideon, Rule thou over us, both thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son also: for thou hast delivered us from the hand of Midian. And Gideon said unto them, I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you:
the LORD shall rule over you.unless you elect us with a majority of delegates.Judges 8:22-23
