Scripture… As We Live It #242
This is the 242nd passage in “Scripture… As We Live It.”
Likewise, you who are younger not leaders, be subject to the elders church leaders. Clothe yourselves, all of you non-leaders, with humility toward one another your leaders, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble and to leaders.” (1 Peter 5:5 re-mix)

Ouch!
That’s bittersweet. As a once-preceived ‘non-leader’ that hits home, and how! I can look back now and see how the grace of God let me escape such an egotistic situation, but it wasn’t without tears, heartache, scripture study, and much prayer. “If anyone loves Me…” (John 14:23) took on new meaning. “If you love father or mother, or son or daughter, more than Me, you are not worthy of Me…” (Matthew 10:37) became profound.
definitely one of my faves.
Ouch indeed!
How many churches I’ve been in that fully agree with your re-mix!
