Scripture… As We Live It #247

Posted by on Feb 10, 2013 in as we live it, scripture | 2 comments

This is the 246th passage in “Scripture… As We Live It.”

Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother instead separate into different groups based on your various beliefs and convictions so that you do not have to deal with people who disagree with you. (Romans 14:13 re-mix)

I love this one, Alan. Just love it! Sadly it’s completely true. We divide the church, then split the divisions into ever smaller splinters. We just can’t help ourselves, can we?

I’m making a concerted effort to network as widely as possible. I think this will an essential part of bring the parts back together, not as an organisation but as a step towards an organism called the body of Christ.

Revelations 21:2, 16(NET) And I saw the holy city — the new Jerusalem — descending out of heaven from God, made ready like a bride adorned for her husband….Now the city is laid out as a square, its length and width the same. He measured the city with the measuring rod at fourteen hundred miles (its length and width and height are equal).
Some decades ago, after hearing teaching about the heavenly Jerusalem’s dimensions, I began to imagine a small cube near one corner where the ‘truly separated’ brethren could remain together and avoid interaction with the rest of us!
