Scripture… As We Live It #239

Posted by on Dec 16, 2012 in as we live it, scripture | 2 comments

This is the 239th passage in “Scripture… As We Live It.”

Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath… except Christmas. It is valid to pass judgment on those who do not regard Christmas correctly. (Colossians 2:16 re-mix)

(Please read the first post for an explanation of this series.)

Heh. Or those who do not regard it all.

    Ouch!
Still, even though I am wrestling with my feelings toward the ‘keep Christ in Christmas’ contingent that would fight the arrant commercialism of the ‘Holiday Season’, I find myself applauding the daughter of a friend…she took her children out of their (public) school the day of the ‘Christmas Program’…not because the program celebrated all sorts of winter holiday traditions, but because, while covering every other known religious or irreligious tradition, it omitted ANY mention of the traditional birth of Jesus.
