This is the 264th passage in “Scripture… As We Live It.”

For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching the method of preaching and the topics preferred by your pastor, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions with different kinds of preaching styles who focus on different topics. I skipped church today because the preaching topic was money. To say I am burned out on that topic is the understatement of the century, at least as it is presented by most churches. It becomes “Dave Ramsay Lite” or how I could be giving more or how God blesses everyone who gives lots of money, and I just don’t care to hear that once again.

I guess I’m one of those people who is desperate to hear more about Jesus and not about the myriad things I’m failing to do the way others think I should do it.

    Sigh.
