Philippians 2:1-4 translation
(NOTE: My goal was to translate one or two paragraphs per week. Philippians 2:5-11 probably belong to the same paragraph as Philippians 2:1-4. However, for the sake of less translation, I’ve separated this paragraph into two weeks.)
My translation:
Therefore, if you have any encouragement in Christ, if you have any comfort because of love, if you have any fellowship because of the Spirit, if you have any compassion and mercy, then fill me with joy by having the same intent, having the same love, being united by having one intent. You should have nothing to do with disharmony, and have nothing to do with conceit. Instead, you should guide one another toward humility by thinking highly of one another. Don’t focus on your own interests, but even more focus on the interests of others. (Philippians 2:1-4)
Here is another translation for comparison:
So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. (Philippians 2:1-4 ESV)
