My translation:

I was so happy that I found some of your children living in that truth, just as we were commanded by the Father. Now I have a request, dear lady, not by writing a new command but a command that we’ve known from the beginning: We should love one another! This is that love that I’m writing about: We should live according to his command. Love is the command, just like you heard from the beginning, so live a life of love. (2 John 4-6)

Here is another translation for comparison:

I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as we were commanded by the Father. And now I ask you, dear lady- not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but the one we have had from the beginning- that we love one another. And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it. (2 John 4-6 ESV)
